As promised, the crockpot (slow cooker) bread recipe. This is a basic loaf for a 4 litre crockpot, though I’ve made it in an oval 8 litre crockpot and it came out fine.
2 cups of warm water
Heaped tablespoon of honey (or sugar, molasses etc)
2 tablespoons of dried yeast
Put in a bowl and set aside until frothy.
5 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of salt
2 tablespoons of oil
mix the yeast mixture into your flour mix (adding in cheese and herbs or sultanas and spices as desired), knead a wee bit (not long). Oil the crockpot up to the top edges, put the dough into the crockpot and cook on high for 2 hours, removing lid to tip the moisture off the lid once or twice during cooking. Turn out onto a bread board when cool.
