I can’t say how relieved I am that we are officially now in Spring. As expected we will have some more winter weather before Spring really kicks in, in fact we are forecast to have snow down to 400m tonight and tomorrow, but today I am just going to enjoy the beautiful sunny day.
A second lamb was born on Thursday. This one is a ewe lamb.
Yesterday I planted some more strawberry plants. I still have room for some more so might pick up another 6 pack of plants when I’m in town today. I have been doing a bit more gardening as the weather gets milder. I have potatoes chittling and we will top up and fertilise the beds before they go in the ground.
We have Asparagus! Yum, we’ve already eaten 5 stalks. Unfortunately it looks like only 2 or 3 of the 5 crowns we planted are growing, so we might need to add some more to make a decent meal.
Some of the other things doing well at the moment, lemons
Mr 7 had a fabulous birthday. He’s looking more grown up by the day and is getting very excited about out trip to the UK and France.
This was his birthday quilt. Double-sided minky, Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2.
I spent most of August working on this quilt – Dr Who.
Then I created this custom ordered Kiwi themed cot quilt.
This was a little playmat / bassinet / car seat quilt that I sent away as a gift.
And last but not least a custom ordered chevron quilt in gorgeous greys and greens.
As well as quilts I made some winter coats. I’m meant to be making one for Cameron but didn’t have enough fabric (and haven’t been able to source any so far), so I made some smaller ones.
This Dr Seuss one is a custom order.
This girls pea coat is for sale (email me if you’re interested), size 5, black coat wool, cotton lining.
Boys / unisex size 2 pea coat also for sale. Dark forest green coat wool, cotton lining.
Sometime I feel like I don’t achieve much, so it’s nice to put up here all the work I’ve completed in a month. I think that 5 quilts and 3 coats is a pretty good amount of work.
I’ve also been working on some knitting. Despite dropping a few stitches at a crucial point (which I managed to recover) I am now almost halfway through and have the correct amount of stitches! Yay!
So, that’s all for now.
