I logged onto Flickr this morning to see what’s happening with a couple of swap groups that I belong to find out that I’ve been excluded from this round of mini quilt swaps because I didn’t hand sew down my binding on the last quilt I made. Geez talk about harsh. I know that it probably was one of the rules and I happened to over look it, but in all honesty I don’t hand sew any of my bindings and can’t see that it makes any difference. I would have though it far more important to judge me by my other actions, such as the fact I participate in all the discussions, I post in-progress and finished pics of all my work, the fact that I always post my mini quilts away on time (usually with a few extras included), always thank my partner personally and the fact that I put a lot of effort into my swaps.
I’m going to sulk now

Oh my this is my worst nightmare. It’s very harsh.
Gee, it was nice of them to let you know in advance so you didn’t find out like that wasn’t it? [sarcasm] I imagine the politics of some of those groups is just brutal, if they’re one of them then you’re better off out of it!
What a bunch, cant see what difference it should make, at least your binding wont come undone like a lot of hand sewn ones do, have a good sulk Viv, cause I would.
That’s just plain rude! It’s not hard to send an email advising if the rules have been broken. Personally I don’t hand-sew bindings, takes too long and if a thread breaks it tends to unravel faster.
I would swap with you ANYTIME…your work is beautiful!!! No matter how you do it!
Seriously? I’ve seen a few blog posts lately about savoring the moment and always hand sewing the binding. It’s all sounding a bit elitist and snobby to me. I’d swap with you anytime too.
