First up, I’d just like to say thanks to everyone who has wished Lil’s a Happy Birthday, wished me well for my surgery and recovery and made other lovely comments on posts recently. I really love getting comments, it keeps the communication happening.
Nathan took this pic on Lilly’s birthday, it was too good not to share…
Cameron is growing so fast at the moment and changing so much day by day. Hsr reading is coming along now too. Just before I went to hospital he read almost all of “Go Dog Go” by himself and is attempting to read “One fish, Two fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”. I’m so proud of him. This is a boy who would not write anything before starting school. Check out how proud of himself he looks…
Cameron is also playing Soccer this year for the first time. He’s very enthusiastic!!!
Joining sports isn’t cheap. Fees were $50, Shorts, Socks and Shin Pads were another $60. Luckily we were given some Soccer boots for Cam and only had to buy a new pair for Lilly. At least for Lilly doing it as a repeat, she had socks and shin pads, shirts are supplied by the team and she wear sthe same shorts that she has at school for PE, so just the fee and boots this year.
I’m going down to watch Lilly’s game today, so hope to get some good pics.
We finally get the fireplace reinstalled last friday. Just in time for the really cold weather. This morning I spied snow on the Tararua ranges, first time the year.
We painted the wall by the fireplace a deep red called “Shiraz” by Resene. I love the colour. There is meant to be some backing behind the fireplace, but the order for it was delayed, so that will come later. The rest of the walls are “solitaire” by Resene, which will be painted in the lounge too, but probably not till spring.
I recovered our manky old hessian covered cork board (a necessity here with all the school notices), I found a nice tan fabric in my stash and added the red ribbon to compliment it. Now it just needs to be hung.
And I have sewn up a reversible girls duffle coat (now in the shop). Trying to use up fabrics I have on hand and raise funds for the kids end of year camps at the same time. We’ll be doing some pine cone collecting on the weekend
Today I have housework, just folding washing and picking up the million and one things no one puts away. Maybe some sewing later!
