doing something more constructive than fluffling about on the computer, but knowing that I have to go to work in just over an hour means that I tend to waste a lot of time. I did take the boy to school, hang out 2 loads of washing and make the bed, but that’s not a lot for 3 hours.
I could have been doing some sewing, but my sewing space has shrunk from a whole room down to just a small desk, which is a right PITA.
I did make the wee boy a new school bag yesterday. I had trouble finding one the right size, they seem to be either too big or too small, so I found a pattern, adjusted the size a wee bit and finished sewing it up last night. He was very happy to take it to school this morning. I’ll take a some pics of it later. I wasn’t that hard to make, just a bit fiddly and the pattern was very good. I learnt how to make a pocket or zip hole with no front seams, which I’ve never done before.
I would like to work on the quilt for our bed for winter (especially as we have had no Summer to speak of) and finish off a single I’m working on, but I’ll need some space for that.
I bought a new foot for my sewing machine last week. I’ve been making quilts for nearly 8 years and never had a quarter inch foot for my Bernina, so I splashed out on one finally. I just about had a fit when I heard how much it was though. $86 !! Damn. I could have bought a cheap knock-off foot, but I’m a staunch Bernina girl, so I got the real thing.

I discovered Amazon is a veritable treasure-trove of sewing supplies, often at crazy prices. I got a brand-new, real Brother 1/4″ foot for my machine for a $1! Admittedly that was only because I had a friend in the States to send it on for me because it only shipped to the States but still!
I bet it will still be money well spent
I love my foot. Although still seem incapable of sewing a proper quarter inch! Are you still keen to do some quilting? I wasn’t too sure and didn’t want to put you in a pickle because I know you’ve been working over time and with the house renovations… Let me know though
