of the $21 challenge. Well, we almost made, but not quite. I had planned to make some bread last night, but forgot that I was meant to be at sewing instead, so I ended up going to sewing and not making bread (it was too late by the time i got home) so I sent Ian out to get bread and milk to use at breakfast this morning. Still, I am pleased, that was a total of $31 spent this week instead of $225, saving $194. All in all not too bad. I ended up changing a few things on the menu, mostly due to not having any milk. It was a good experience. I don’t know if we will do it again any time soon though
Yesterday I spent most of the day sewing school uniform pants for Cameron and his friend, and naming his uniform. Now he is all set, except for a new lunchbox and schoolbag. Only 2 more weeks and he will be at school.
I’ve been working on a mini quilt for Doll Quilt Swap 11. This time we had to make something traditional. I had a hard time choosing a pattern, but eventually settled on a value quilt using half square triangles in the 2 colours my partner likes best. I was pleased to see how well it has come out.
Since I took this picture I have sewn all the blocks together and started the handquilting. I’m pleased I decided to hand quilt it, it gives me something to do while watching TV at night. I find if I sew on my machine at night I make to many mistakes, better to wait till daylight
And while this stack of tea towels I have sewn up may look boring, they are the best tea towels ever!
And some bedtime slippers for the shop. These have been the most popular baby shoes lately. I must remember to list them asap.
