Check out some of the gorgeous things that the postie has delivered to me recently…
Some Echino (that I got for a steal on Trademe) and a pattern that I was lucky enough to win. The “Seeing squares” pattern is made by Shea over at the Empty Bobbin, I won it in a giveaway on Jacquie’s blog Tallgrass Prairie Studio. I wanted the pattern the first time that I saw it on Shea’s blog, so was very pleased to win it. I’m going to try it out as soon as I can get myself a suitable stack of gorgeous fabrics. I have some blues I’ve been stashing away
I also got a couple of books that have been on my wish list for a few months.
Dare to be Square quilting – I was able to have a flick through this book thanks to Amy who got it out of the Wellington library and bought it one night to sewing group. There are heaps of patterns in it that I wanted to try out, so it was a good investment.
The Practical Guide to Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman of Oh Fransson - I wanted this as soon as I saw it too, even though I had not seen inside. I have to say when it came I was not disappointed. There are a few patterns inside that I’m desperate to try out. I’m a huge fan of Elizabeth’s work.
Both books came via The Book Depository UK, which had great prices, free worldwide delivery and spectacular service !!! I’ll definitely buy from them again.
I’ll be back sooner rather than later, I actually finished a quilt today. Just a small one.
