I had a combination of both today.  Unexpectedly, the shopping I though would be good, was bad and vice versa.  Go figure.

I left the little dude at home with Ian, as in the past few months has turned into a horror whenever we are near the shops.  If it’s not the I want, I want happening it’s just being a general pest.  So he got to stay home.  Lilly and a friend were going to the movies, so on the way we had a quick look for school sandals, none were to be had yet (still a few weeks before schools back so no worries), sent them on their way and shopped for shoes for Nathan.  Like most blokes when shopping, he’s know what he likes, got the size sorted and make a quick decision. After that I sent the boys on their way to lunch and set about my own shopping.

I was shopping for new bras.  Not my favourite pastime, but a necessary evil.  I’m down to two bras, one that fits, one that doesn’t very well with a dodgy underwire.  I hate the mirrors at the shop.  I’m sure I always look worse in them than the mirrors at home.  Do you think it’s deliberate?? If so could they make me look thinner rather than fatter, cause I’d sure buy more clothes that way.  Anyways, I had my eye on 2 bras I’d seen recently.  One lovely in red and white stripes, the other a cute navy and white gingham one.  I’d seen these a few weeks ago, and had been wanting to get something cute and bright for summer.  To my delight they even (stated) to be in my size (generous).  So I managed to find my size and off I went to the changing room.  Only to be vastly disappointed.  WTF?? Tell my why there is no standard sizing for bras?? I can understand differences in quality, materials etc, but surely they could all work to a standard size.  After that I perused the shelves looking for any cute bras (supposedly) in my size.  I found one or two, but they were more the lacy kind and I wanted bright and cheerful.  I find the lacy ones are only good for a special night out, not general wear, they’re just not designed to hold firmly for a long time.  So what did I end up with??  4 new bras, all the same brand and style, in different colours.  Sad, but true.  Seems that I must have odd shaped boobs, cause I can only get one brand that reliably fits me well.  I did buy a decent sports bra, boy do they make you pay big money for those once you are past the smaller sizes.  I  sure am hoping that with some more weight-loss I can lose a bit in the boob department.  fingers crossed aye?? I don’t want to keep wearing old lady bras, I’m not old yet :-(

So just to brighten my day, I did the grocery shopping (conservatively) and still went $50 over budget and forgot bread (I usually buy 10 loaves and freeze it). Bugger!!
