A bad thing :-(

I meant to post ages ago about the “Spring to Finish” challenge over at Jacquie’s blog.  I signed up to join in, cause I really need to get some quilts finished.  I have so many quilts in progress.  So I loaded up the button and added it to my sidebar, but then I forgot to post my list.  I haven’t counted how many quilts I have to finish,  somewhere in the 12 – 15 range (didn’t want to scare myself by actually counting them), so I have given myself a promise to finish 4 quilts.  Any 4 quilts that I have started.

I have made progress, I finished one quilt, another is two thirds quilted (free motion quilting takes a bit longer than stippling), on yet another the top is complete.  So I have till the end of the month to finish the two I’m working on, and pick up one more half finished one and get it done.   I guess I better get cracking then.

As to the title of the post, well as a little incentive I had planned a wee fabric buying spree after finishing, to reward myself, but I had a bit of time to myself on the weekend so I visited a couple of quilt shops.  Unfortunately I didn’t come out empty-handed.  I’ve kind of rewarded myself in advance.

A few more linens to add to my collection….

And a few other cottons that caught my eye…

I think I was lucky that I managed to leave the store with only those, there was so much there to tempt me.  However the looming expensive car repairs stopped me from spending any more.

The HUGE up side ??? I have paying jobs this week.  Sewing jobs, Yay!!!  Today I stippled a quilt for a TNNer who was happy to make up the top but not confident enough to quilt it.  I just have to finish the binding off and it will be ready to be returned to her.  I have a whole quilt to make.  I’ve been sent the fabric, once a pattern is decided on I’ll be able to start that job.  Another TNNer who has bought a quilt from me previously wanted a couple of art caddies made up, she showed me a pic, so I went and drafted a pattern and made up a prototype.  It turned out pretty good, just a few adjustments to the height and width.  Once her choice of fabric is sent to me I’ll make them up.  Here’s a pic of the prototype I made….

Well, back to work then.
