First up though, Happy Birthday to my lovely husband.
The kids have been enjoying the advent calendar. This morning there were balloons in the pocket. Here’s what Nathan and Lilly did with their’s………………
Lilly helped sew up a present for a birthday she was going to. Check out the cute pencil roll that we made………
The fabric was a piece that Lilly had been trying to scrounge off me ever since I came home with it, but she was happy enough for it to be used for her friend. Oh how times have changed. Lilly’s first suggestion for a present was a small bag I had made, much better than buying something. So in the end we made the pencil roll, filled it with pencils and added in the bag as well. Perfect for a 12 year old girl.
I had a go making some hexagons with my scraps of Mendocino (here’s hoping I can buy some more one day soon, it’s my all time favourite line of fabric). They turned out great. I will put them aside for a while now, as I’d like to clear a few more jobs off my New Year’s Challenge list.
I did get one more job on my list done. I can’t say who this quilt is for, but someone special, who knows how much time and effort goes into quilting. The top is complete.
Sheesh, it was bigger than I expected. I’m not looking forward to quilting it. I love the super rich colours, they remind me of jewels. I will machine quilt most of it, but hand quilt in the purple diamonds.
I got a lovely package in the mail today. My Fall Mini Quilt for the swap, from Debbie in the US. I have been incredibly lucky in my swaps, and this one is no different. Look at the gorgeous mini quilt Debbie made for me.
The scarecrow is so cute !!! There were also some additional goodies in my package, chocolate (woohoo), and a lovely charm pack. Thank you so much Debbie. A great swap.
Well, that’s about all for today. Happy holidays.
