Sad, but true, my favourite pair of boots have been worn out.
It’s only taken nearly 15 years of wearing. They were the best boots ever! Stylish (well I thought so), comfortable, so comfortable I would forget I had boots on. They were even still waterproof up until last year. However they haven’t been the best the last few times I’ve worn them, and today they made me feet sore, for the first time ever. The soles are worn out 
The toes are worn, they are cracked I’ve worn the colour off them in quite a few places
I can’t bear to throw them away. They were a pressie from Ian many years ago.
I do have my eye on these as a replacement pair, but it will have to wait a while till I can afford them.

oh, Doc Martens. I remember mine well. They were worn to the death, and had a huge hole in the back (from getting caught on a fence I was trying to climb over in order to get into the park at night – I was obviously only a kid then!)
I wonder if the shop is still in covent garden in london? I can’t remember it when I was last there, but then again, I wasn’t looking for it. You’d have a field day in there!
I believe Doc Marten has a “lifetime guarantee” policy. I just read on their website (because I had to click on your link to the awesome flower boots) that they will repair or replace their boots when they’re worn out. You should look into that! Maybe you could get that pretty pair as a free replacement.
OR! you can make them into a pretty outdoor planter! I’ve seen some cool ones at friends houses- I think they coat them with marine varnish.lol
