Ok, so here’s all the glorious pics of the sewing I’ve done recently

Little hanging birds. I’ve been meaning to make some of these for ages. The pattern is in the ‘Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts’ book.

Lilly thought they would make good earrings

This is the gift basket requested by J & D for the imminent arrival of a new niece or nephew. There’s a minky blanket, 20 reusable wipes, 2 cotton velour towelling / fleece bibs, 3 pairs of baby shoes (1 leather, 1 cotton and 1 minky), a small minky sidesnap nappy (with snap in boosters) and a small white PUL all in one nappy. And a small bird. All packaged up in a nice basket

Blue Flower shoes.

Pink flower shoes.

Dragonfly shoes.
I’m sure I did more sewing than that, but it’s all I took pics of. Tomorrow I’m starting a quilt that a friend has asked me to make for her son (who has the same b’day as Cam). It’s really pleasing when people ask me to make something for them, especially as it often costs more that what they could buy something for in the shops. The materials for the quilt will be almost $100, and about half that again for my time, which is a lot when you could go and buy a quilt made in PRC for $5 at the big red shed. It’s awesome that there are people out there who see the value in handmade goods and are prepared to pay a reasonable amount for them.
