As you can tell from the pic below Cam enjoyed the blackberry picking (once we let him loose from the carrier

So Jam got made today (without even procrastinating), and I have swapped a jar with my neighbour already (I’m getting Apricot in return, yum). The jar on the left in the pic is Elderberry Jam that my friend Clare made last week. I can’t wait to try it. Clare has generously lent me her ice cream machine, so I think I will make some blackberry ice cream as well. We managed to get about 1.5 kg of berries in half an hour.

A small harvest from the garden, baby carrots, butter beans, a courgette and a few early Roma tomatoes.

And the stash of nappies I have made for my niece Kaiyah. Don’t they look pretty?

We had a bit of a drama here yesterday. When I was outside feeding the chooks Cam managed to drop on of the bricks holding the french door open on one of his toes. Shaved off most of one of his toenails, ouch ! We bandaged it up (with the nail back in place) and got it checked out today at the Dr’s. They recommended we leave the nail there to help protect the toe while the new nail grows in. Surprisingly Cam had a good nights sleep (may have been helped by a dose of Pamol
) and slept till 7 this morning with no wake ups at all in the night. Yay !!
